Itinerary
Part of the municipality of Manciano, it stands on a travertine plateau at 294 masl in the hinterland of the Maremma Grossetana. The main resource is thermal tourism. It’s home to the famous Terme di Saturnia with sulphurous waters that flow at a temperature of 37.5°C and have renowned therapeutic properties.
Le principali cascate termali sono le Cascate del Mulino, situate presso un vecchio mulino.
It is an ancient village located on the Grosseto hills, famous all over the world for its fine wine: the Morellino di Scansano (a DOCG wine only made in this area and in parts of the province of Grosseto). Walking through the narrow streets of the Old Town, you can admire numerous medieval buildings and splendid views of the surrounding countryside. When in Scansano, we suggest you stop to taste and buy Morellino and appreciate the local cuisine in a local restaurant or farmhouse. In September, a picturesque wine festival takes place in Scansano, during which the cellars are opened and you can taste wine and typical products along with music and popular songs.
