Starting in Saturnia, we travel the first kms uphill along the provincial road that leads us in the direction of Poggio Murella (Marco Pantani’s home). We continue towards Catabbio and San Martino sul Fiora, which dominate the whole valley crossed by the Fiora River, until we reach the town of Sovana – a medieval Etruscan village. Later we cross the villages of Sorano and Pitigliano, villages that will leave you speechless even before you arrive. We ride towards Manciano and Montemerano along the main road, admiring the hills that form the backdrop in this wonderful Tuscan territory – the last uphill stretch to complete the 79km tour towards Saturnia.
